Aaron Tee - Interview

1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from?

Aaron Tee from Vicksburg, MS

2. What made you start making music?

Man, I got into it as a pastime and it evolved into one of my main passions.

3. Who are your influences?

I’m influenced by Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West and Young Thug.

4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?

I love it. I love mainstream music but hearing artists who may have started just like me brings me a different type of joy.

5. What are your goals for 2019 regarding music?

2019 is nearly over, but for 2020 I’m just looking forward to perfecting my craft and learning more along the way.

6. You have 1 person to thank who would it be?

I gotta thank my momma for giving birth to a n*gga like me.

7. What is your process for recording music ?

I listen to the instrumental, if I vibe with it then I’ll spitball a bit to get a feel for it- if I wanna write for it I’ll write, if I wanna just hop on it and get lyrics along the way, I’ll do that.

8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for?

Nah, I just drop when I feel I have a song/project that I, personally, feel comfortable putting out into the universe.

9. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper?

I make the type of stuff that I like to listen to, so honestly just listening to my own music knowing that it’s me.

10. What impact do you want to have on the world?

Millions of people die while leaving NO impact on the world. So, if I can leave ANY type of positive impact on the world I’ll be satisfied.

11. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying?

Music is my passion but if I gain a following I’d incorporate another passion of mine, saxophone, into my music. Once that happens it will definitely be a lifestyle for me.

12. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why?

I would say Kendrick Lamar but he doesn’t drop anymore so I’m gonna go with Young Thug. There’s just something about that man that gives me a warm feeling inside.

13. What does the music you create make you feel?

No two songs of mine are alike, some will make you feel hype, some will make you think, some will make you feel nostalgic, some are aphrodisiacs. Hell, I even have a country song dropping soon that’ll leave a true listener longing for love.

14. Why is music so important and dear to your heart ?

Music has been in my life since I was 3. My parents are musicians, they taught me and my siblings piano from a young age and I’ve just been adding on to the instruments since then. Now I’m putting it all together to make something happen as a vocalist.

15. Taking this as a passion what works best with you for endeavors you may face (regarding to music)?

Take the good with the bad, man.

16. whats your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?

I think I’ve only had 4-5 collaborations but my favorite one is “Dead Roses” with NW5PROPHETIC, Lazarus Maximum, Graxxian and Vltra Uision.

17. who does all of your cover art or do you make your own?

I make all of my own.

18. who makes most of your beats or production?

Most of my beats USED to come from Balance Cooper, shoutout the homie. But I’ve been expanding the type of instrumentals I use.

19. who is one artist you wish to work on music with and why?

I’ll work with anyone, but I love working with polar opposites. It creates a beautiful contrast in the sound and I feel like that is some of the more memorable music.

20. who is one producer you wish to work with and why?

Any producer who can do more than the basic “trap” beats is a producer I’m excited to get something done with. No disrespect to the trap beats, but they all sound the same to me.

21 do you have any upcoming shows in the next couple months ?

No ma’am, no sir.

22 for people who havent heard of you what sets you apart from other artists?

I wouldn’t call myself a lyricist, but my lyrics are thought provoking, while at the same time not being TOO serious. I want somebody to cry and laugh while listening to the same track.

23 at the end of the day what does music mean to you ?

Music is an expressive, creative, ever-expanding outlet that anyone can try, but only a few can master. I want to be one to master music.

24. Any live shows or projects you got coming up?

No ma’am, no sir.
