BairdoOnDaBeat - Interview

1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from?

My rap name is BairdoOnDaBeet. I actually got the name before I started rapping because I used to make beats for my friends. I’m from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.

2. What made you start making music?

Honestly, I started rapping just for fun. We were up in my friends room one day and he was like “Baird you got to hop on one of the beats you made… Its only right.” Ever since then I’ve been rapping.

3. Who are your influences?

My biggest influences right now are 100% Juice Wrld and Lil Tecca. They’re literally the only artists I listen to. Juice’s music just hits different. I’ve been bumping him since before he blew up and was just a regular SoundCloud rapper like me. I feel like I just connect with his music more than anyone else’s.

4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?

Like I said in the last question, I don’t even listen to any music besides leaked juice wrld songs and some Lil Tecca. I’m always down to give new songs and lowkey artists a listen though.

5. What are your goals for 2020 regarding music?

My goals for now are basically just keep dropping music consistently, whether it’s just me featuring on some songs or me dropping a single. I just want to make a name for myself.

6. You have 1 person to thank who would it be?

Biso. He’s the dude that got me to start rapping. I made a few beats for him. You guys should check him out too.

7. What is your process for recording music?

My process really isn’t a hard one. I just sit down, listen to some beats until I find one that I can flow on. Then, I just speak whatever is on my mind at the time. Sometimes ill finish a song in an hour, sometimes it’ll take me a couple days.

8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for?

I actually just dropped a single on my SoundCloud called “Wildside” and I have a few features on Biso’s album that just dropped last week on apple music called “I’m So Sorry for the Wait

9. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper?

I just really have fun with it. I feel like I’ve got a creative mind. I could definitely expand on the music I make right now into something different. I like how I can just get on a beat and speak my mind. It’s like writing down in a diary.

10. What impact do you want to have on the world?

I just want people to be able to listen to my music and feel whatever I’m rapping about. I want people to relate to it. Whether it’s a sad song or a real upbeat song I want the listeners to understand it, relate to it, and just vibe.

11. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying?

Right now, I just do it for fun. I’m a full-time college student but if I were to blow up and be able to make a living off it, I definitely would.

12. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why?

Juice Wrld. He’s been my favorite for as long as I can remember. Since a little before he dropped “Goodbye & Good Riddance”. Ever since I saw the video of him recording “All Girls are the Same” he was my motivation. Sitting in room with some speakers and a mic just like we do at my boy’s place.

13. what does the music you create make you feel?

Supppeerrrr happy when I know I just recorded a fire song.

14. why is music so important and dear to your heart ?

Like I said in an earlier question, its like you’re writing down into a diary. I’m just able to speak how I feel.

15. Taking this as a passion what works best with you for endeavors you may face (regarding to music)?

Just don’t stop. Keep going no matter what. I got people hating on me being a rapper all the time. That’s not gonna stop me from doing what a love and having some fun.

16. whats your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?

Truly, the only collab I’ve done was with Biso. I’ve never actually worked with anyone.

17. who does all of your cover art or do you make your own?

I usually either make it or just find some free random pictures off google and throw some words on it.

18. who makes most of your beats or production?

I used to make some beats. I actually had an album planned to use only beats I made but I ended up only using a few of my beats. I just use Free for Profit type beats off YouTube.

19. who is one artist you wish to work on music with and why?

If I were to ever blow up I’d like to do it just off singles and features with ETM but one artist would definitely be Lil Tecca. That would be crazzyyyyyy.

20. who is one producer you wish to work with and why?

Nick Mira for sure.

21 do you have any upcoming shows in the next couple months ?

Nah. I don’t know the first thing about booking a show or anything. I never really even looked into it.

22 for people who havent heard of you what sets you apart from other artists?

I feel like I just have my own sound. I feel like I could also flow on any type of beat and make it sound good.

23 at the end of the day what does music mean to you ?

Music helps speak whats on my mind without actually speaking to anyone.

24. Any live shows or projects you got coming up?

I’m working on an album to drop early 2020.
