EPayne - INTERVIEW


1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from?

My MC name is EPayne and I'm originally from Fort Worth, Texas.


2. What made you start making music?

I love to write, so writing was what made me wanna make music along with me tryna express myself in some form.


3. Who are your influences?

Charles H. Houston, Sam and Dan Houser, Z-ro, UGK, Three 6 Mafia, Odd Future, and last but not least Wu-Tang-Clan


4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now? 

Its amazing! 


5. What are your goals for 2019 regarding music? 

diversify my music funds.


6. You have 1 person to thank who would it be? 

Myself, I do all this 1Deep . One man army.


7. What is your process for recording music ? 

I tend to find a beat then write something to it right then and there. Again I love to write so it all comes together well.


8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for? 

I have my own series on youtube called ''Exploit'' I release new and old clips including my pervious performances, funny reality skits and more! Im also working on my project titled ''Domestic Terrorist'' which I had first released on soundcloud in 2014 and ill be re-releasing it later this year. 


9. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper? 

The challenges that it comes with, networking is one of my favorite parts of being an MC along with the craft.


10. What impact do you want to have on the world? 

The Lords Word.


11. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying

Music to me is a LIFESTYLE, I express myself in my music and I also address social and environmental issues so its not just some hobby, music is life for me. my fathers side of the family are all involved music, so music runs in my family.


12. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why?

Tyler, The Creator because he's and actual musician that arranges his own music and I respect that about an artist especially if there doing it all from in-house.


13. what does the music you create make you feel?

Relaxed and calm, sometimes hype but for the most part just a mellow vibe.


14. why is music so important and dear to your heart ?

I have love and respect for the Hip-Hop culture, in many ways it build my character over time.


15. Taking this as a passion what works best with you for endeavors you may face (regarding to music)? 

Staying consisted and always a step ahead.


16. whats your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?

my best experience with an artist would be my good friend Polo, he sadly passed away in April of 2017 [ R.I.P ] he was the only person I ever collaborated with that didn't have a poor work ethic, he was always on top of his rap game and had the same ambition that I have. My favorite producer I worked with would be Oliver Shake from West Virginia. His work is one of the best out there.


17. who does all of your cover art or do you make your own?

formally my former collaborator Gnosis EMC would do my covers that's until I dropped the 6IXAVE EP and from there I started to make my own project covers and single covers. 


18. who makes most of your beats or production? 

Dj Tony Snow, Oliver Shake, PYRRX, Dvtchie, YOAJM, Mean Sk, Vape.80, Thatboyslim and ajgotbeats. 


19. who is one artist you wish to work on music with and why?

Joey bada$$, he has that real Hip-Hop vibe so I feel like we would make a good collaboration based off of lyricism.


20. who is one producer you wish to work with and why?

Dj Paul of Three 6 Mafia, he makes that hardcore shit and I fucks with that even though I did mention earlier that my music is more relaxed but when it comes to the academy award winning artist I just gots to hop on a hcp beat.


21 do you have any upcoming shows in the next couple months ?

not at the moment, but stay tuned!


22 for people who havent heard of you what sets you apart from other artists?

I'm an MC, not a rapper, I live what I say and I say what I live.


23 at the end of the day what does music mean to you ?

Everything to me. That's all have going.
