FamouzzVick - Interview

1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from?

Ans: My rap name is Famouzzvick and I’m from Nigeria

2. What made you start making music?

Ans: Watched “let it shine” in high school and ever since then I’ve wanted to rap

3. Who are your influences in rap?

Ans: Eminem, J Cole, JHus amongst others

4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?

Ans: There’s just so much talent and music that needs to be heard, and especially in Nigeria, there’s just not a lotta investors willing to invest in this part of African music. I’m just gon say people should keep doing what they do, whether or not you get the money and the fame, make music that depicts you. Music from your soul, music that is you.

5. As an artist who has to compete with thousands of others for streams/plays, what makes your music worth people clicking on?

Ans: I can’t lie sometimes when I hear some other people like me, I’m like what’s special that’ll make me blow? But I just do music from my heart, I’m dropping an EP say next month and I’ve listened over and over, that body of work is me encapsulated in rhythms, rhymes and instrumentals. And sometimes people just wanna know who you are because there’s a lotta broken people and people sometimes just wanna know that they’re not alone. I know there’s a lotta people like me and they’ll love this stuff.

6. You have 1 person to thank, who would it be?

Ans: Tbh it’s gotta be 2, The weekend saved me, I mean his music. He was my therapy for a long time, still is. But I still gotta thank Eminem because he challenges me to want to do it at that god level. He’s my teacher and he’s helped me get better.

7. What is your process for recording music ?

Ans: I record in my room on my phone with this app called spire and my producer friend mixes and masters, pretty amazing stuff because it’s not apparent from the quality of the music.

8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for this year?

Ans: Definitely. I’m dropping an EP titled “BIRTH OF A RAPSTAR” next month and it’s mostly me talking my struggles of wanting to drop out of med school, to my struggles of depression and all. You should anticipate.

9. What keeps you motivated and on path towards your goals for music?

Ans: It’s a lotta things but to mention a few, poverty and the hunger for success. I want to show the world what I can do and how a kid from Africa can change the rap game Continentallly. Plus music is my only escape from the world and the only thing I have passion for, except enjoyment.

10. What impact do you want to have on the world?

Ans: I want kids from Africa to realize that they can achieve whatever they want to do even if they’re from an underprivileged continent. And I wanna save people who feel life isn’t worth living and let them know they’re not alone.

11. What's your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?

Ans: It’s gotta be SANTA with Spaceman Ali, that song was pure madness, and it was basically us cruising.

12. Who does all of your cover art or do you make your own?

Ans: I got a friend dweedart, man’s fire and will be doing most of my art till the end of time.

13. Who makes most of your beats or production?

Ans: Greggzbeat, he’s basically self taught and learnt it all from YouTube.

14. What can we expect next from you in 2022?

Ans: Tbh I’m a lil scared because I too expect a lot from myself, but I’m just gonna say expect my best because that’s all I can give and I hope it’s enough. Hopefully, the sky is our starting point.
