G - Interview 32

1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from? I go by Produced By G or just "G" and I am from Kansas.

2. What made you start making music?

Music has always been apart of me starting in jazz band in middle school . I've been creating my own music for almost 10 years now but actually started taking it serious about a year ago .

3. Who are your influences in rap or beyond?

My influences include Murda beatz, Tay Keith, $uicideBoy$ , Metro Boomin, Ronny J , Zaytoven... I can go on and on . I gain knowledge from any where I can .

4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?

In my opinion the underground rap scene is missing that old school aspect. That real grimey, dirty, street music. Too much of it is focused on other things than music and I feel it's very saturated with people trying to sound like the " mainstream " artists which isnt a bad thing necessarily it just lacks originality. 5. What are your goals for 2019 regarding music?

My goals are to stay consistent with my craft and maybe get a really good placement that will boost my reach . Also, I plan on getting a website for exclusives and merch in 2019 . 6. You have 1 person to thank who would it be?

I thank every single person that supports me. 7. What is your process for recording music ?

I act off the vibe and energy I have at the time I sit down in the studio . Sometimes I start with a melody or I start with the drums . 8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for?

I have a really dope EP in the works that should be ready to drop this spring . 9. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper?

My favorite part is just being able to have fun expressing myself through my beats . People listen to music for a mood or energy and I enjoy seeing that impact on people who listen to my music .

10. What impact do you want to have on the world?

That anything is possible if you stay consistent and stay positive. Following your dreams and diving right into your passion can turn to gold right before your eyes.

11. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying?

it is a hobby turned business. I plan on being able to make enough money through music to replace my 9 - 5 income and make this my lifestyle . 12. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why?

My favorite artist has to be J Cole . Very versatile with his music . You never really know what you are going to hear from him .

13. what does the music you create make you feel?

I put whatever energy I have at the moment into my creations. I like to say i let my inner " darkside " Express itself through my beats . I want people to feel they are in a different world when listening to tracks I've produced. Almost like escaping reality for a short period of time. 14. why is music so important and dear to your heart ?

It's almost the only thing I have that is MINE and no one can take my skills and knowledge for it away from me. It helps with depression and anxiety on a daily basis just being able to focus on it and not my everyday problems in my head . It makes me feel wholesome and like I have a purpose on this earth other than just being alive . 15. Taking this as a passion what works best with you for endeavors you may face (regarding to music)?

Simply remembering that everybody starts somewhere. You cant start at the top . It sucks when you put a lot of time and energy into a track and it doesnt get much recognition but I just remind myself why I do it and keep focused on the future. Some people might hate the music I produced but there are others that fucking love it .

16. whats your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?

My best collab would have to be with my guy Pariah ( @dillon_lal ) he murders every single one of my beats . Oh and @Jellomauri is a dope artist I've worked with a lot so expect some exclusives from all of us soon . 17. who does all of your cover art or do you make your own?

99% of the time I do my own .

18. who makes most of your beats or production?

I make 100% of all of my beats . 19. who is one artist you wish to work on music with and why?

I wish to collab with murda beatz, Ronny J, or tay keith one of these days . But as for an artist(s) I would love to work with juicy j , Suicideboys, ghostmane, and Asap Rocky . They all have a very experimental vibe to their music and it fits well with how I create .

20. who is one producer you wish to work with and why?

Ronny J for sure . We would fuck the underground game UP .

21. do you have any upcoming shows in the next couple months ?

Nope .

22. For people who havent heard of you what sets you apart from other artists?

What sets me apart is that when you hear my beats you KNOW it's my creation 100% . It makes you feel the same way I felt making it.

23. at the end of the day what does music mean to you ?

Music means a lot not just to me but to the world. When people are sad they listen to music. When people are happy they listen to music. When people are angry they listen to music . I know theres people out there that bump my shit consistently for the simple fact they want to catch my vibe and feel the energy I bring. So its important to me to deliver that experience everytime .

24. does your family support you with music?

Yes they do . My family will always support anything that I do . That's what family is for .

25. at the end of the day when it comes to music we are in your world when listening to music by you...what type of vibe does your music bring ?

A lot of the tracks Ive produced make you want to walk around with a switch blade and cut a motherfucker that talks to you crazy. Not really but I bring a real dark, grimey, street music vibe . I'm influenced a lot by three six mafia so I like to bring that Memphis underground back to the world .
