Jimmy Luciano - Interview
1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from?
Jimmy Luciano from the Bronx Ny 2. What made you start making music?
I was a real angry kid. I was abused and abandoned by my real parents as a small child. Grew up in a foster home, was getting in and out of trouble. I needed an outlet for whatever I was feeling inside. Hip Hop provided the perfect avenue. 3. Who are your influences in rap?
Tupac, Jay-Z, Nas, and of course Big pun. 4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?
Man there is so much talent out there right now and so many different platforms for these amazing artists to be heard, I think its really getting ready to explode to where you see a lot more underground artists get the respect they deserve. 5. As an artist who has to compete with thousands of others for streams/plays, what makes your music worth people clicking on?
Because I'm trying to bring back that real NY sound. That grittiness that catapulted New York to the forefront of rap in the 90's by incorporating real life with heavy punchlines and wordplay. 6. You have 1 person to thank, who would it be?
Will always be my foster mother for taking a chance and adopting me because i could've been lost in the system. 7. What is your process for recording music ?
I usually try to prep and rehearse at least for about a week before i go in so that way I know exactly what flows and cadences I need to use beforehand and knock it out and let the producer work their magic. 8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for this year?
I'm actually going to record the last 3 songs this weekend for my debut EP Titled: "As Luck would have it" that im hoping to drop by the end of this year so be on the lookout for that. 9. What keeps you motivated and on path towards your goals for music?
I'm always in constant competition with myself. I'll hear something i did on a song and then critique myself to the point to where I have to write something better. 10. What impact do you want to have on the world?
no impact i j ust want to be known as someone who always spoke his truth. 11. What's your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?
