Keyron - Interview


1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from?

Answer: My name is Keyron and I’m from Los Angeles California.


2. What made you start making music?

Answer: I was always influenced by every genre of music during my childhood. I was intrigued by how all the sounds blended together to make people feel better about life. I always wanted to be a part of that.


3. Who are your influences in rap?

Answer: My influences in Rap are DJ Quik, Pete Rock, Public Enemy and NWA.


4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?

Answer: The underground rap scene in my opinion is as strong as it’s ever been. The talent is endless and it’s a space where everyone can thrive and coexist without being compromised.


5. As an artist who has to compete with thousands of others for streams/plays, what makes your music worth people clicking on?

Answer: When you listen to my music, there’s always a message. Sometimes it’s hidden in the entomology of the words I’m using and at other times it’s direct. It’s definitely a thought provoking experience.


6. You have 1 person to thank, who would it be?

Answer: The Most High


7. What is your process for recording music ?

Answer: When I’m inspired to create I usually write throughout the day and voice record elements and cadences I may not remember. Once I’m done, I find a quiet environment to complete the the song and then eventually record it at the studio.


8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for this year?

Answer: I’m currently releasing singles from The Coffee Break Series. The 3rd single “Shine” from that series is set to be released in July. I’m also going to be releasing individual songs throughout the year that will showcase my versatility to create over different styles sonically and not be confined to just one sound or style.


9. What keeps you motivated and on path towards your goals for music? Answer: I love and respect Hip Hop for what the culture has done for my life personally. It’s kept me alive through some very difficult times so I’m always motivated to have the same positive impact on someone that the culture has had on me and I’m appreciative that I can pay that forward by doing it through my music.


10. What impact do you want to have on the world?

Answer: I want to have an impact of positivity and inspiration. Not just just through music but also through the work I do in my community and also with the people I meet in life personally.


11. What's your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?

Answer: Currently I’m working with @savilionbeats who has been engineering and mastering my music. What makes it an excellent experience is the fact that he’s also a outstanding producer and understands the importance of paying attention to details to convey the vision of the record properly.


12. Who does all of your cover art or do you make your own?

Answer: I’ve worked with different artists for my cover art. I love to work with anyone who has skill and can bring the intended vision of each project to life.


13. Who makes most of your beats or production?

Answer: I make most of my beats but I have songs with other dope producers as well.


14. What can we expect next from you in 2022?

After the “Coffee Break Series” is complete I’m going to be releasing songs throughout the year until I eventually release “The Hereafter”.
