Kythre - Interview 01
1. Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself!
My name is Kythre, real name Kyle Margison, and I'm a 15-year-old rapper from Schenectady, New York.
2. What made you start making music?
What made me start making music was that I wanted a way to vent the way I feel about anything really through a form of art and expression, and at the point that I started making music, I had been a fan of rap for nearly 4-5 years. Now that I think about it, I wanted to be the next Eminem, just pissing people off left and right, but as I got better at making music, I decided to take my own route and become my own artist.
3. Who are your influences?
My biggest influences for music are XXXTENTACION, Eminem, Tyler the Creator, and Kanye West.
4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?
Now, I haven't really been keeping up with the underground rap scene as of recent, but I know there are a bunch of really talented rappers that are currently dominating it right now, and I'd like to see what they do in the future.
5.What are your goals for 2019 regarding music?
My goals for 2019 regarding music are to finally break out of the underground scene, and finally get noticed for my talent. I want my music to affect millions of people by then.
The #1 person that I'd like to thank is my manager, Tuke Lenkku. He's just been so supportive of me since he started managing me, and he's even helping me financially, with leases of beats and promotion. So yeah, he's the #1 person to thank for me.
6. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for?
I don't have a project coming out anytime soon, though I do have a remix to the popular Eminem song "Lucky You" coming out soon, which features my good friend Witto, who is a talented rapper from the UK. I'm not really in album mode yet, as I released my album Heartbreak only 2 and a half months ago, but once I get into album mode, the songs will be coming out left and right!
7. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper?
My favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper is that I can express myself by doing what I love, which is making music. Like if I'm feeling depressed as fuck, I'll write a song about it. And if I'm feeling cocky as fuck, I'll write a song about that as well. I just like being myself, man.
8. What impact do you want to have on the world?
The impact I want to have on the world is a positive one. I want to bring mental health issues to light more than they are already, as there still aren't enough people taking it seriously. I just want to make the world a better place however I can.
9. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying?
My ambitions with music... I want to turn this into a career as soon as possible. I want to be able to make a living off of it. I can't exactly embody it 24/7 as of right now though, because of school and such, but it definitely is much more than just a hobby. I take this shit seriously man!
10. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why?
My favorite artist in the rap game right now is easily Tyler, the Creator. I just really enjoy his sound. It's a refreshing taste. Plus, with how gorgeous his Flower Boy album was, I can't help but love it. I'm a huge fan of the dude!
