MXN - Interview

1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from?


MXN, I am originally from South Bend, Indiana but I currently live in San Antonio, Texas.

2. What made you start making music?


I was originally inspired to create music by Mac Miller but then when I went to a music festival and saw him perform there I knew it was something I wanted to do.

3. Who are your influences?

                Currently my main influences for music are Lil Uzi, YNW Melly, Mac Miller, Xavier Wulf, and Juice WRLD.

4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now? 

                I love the underground scene and see so many passionate people who use their time to do something they love.

5. What are your goals for 2019 regarding music? 

                Same goal as every year, land a record deal.

6. You have 1 person to thank who would it be? 

                I would thank my girlfriend for always believing in me and pushing me to create more.

7. What is your process for recording music ? 

                I create music by making a beat first then looping it multiple times to the outline of a I like, then I start recording a hook and if its fire I continue recording the rest of the song.

8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for?

                I just dropped a new single on spotify called “atonement.” And I have two more singles dropping soon. 

9. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper? 

                It gives me a chance to show the world who I really am and allows me to express myself.

10. What impact do you want to have on the world? 

                I want to give people peace of mind and allow them to see other people who feel like them are out there and they can achieve happiness too.

11. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying? 

                I want to make music my life.

12. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why? 

                I am a big fan of Lil Uzi because he is always himself.

13. what does the music you create make you feel?

                It makes me feel relief from the anxieties and mental health issues I deal with on a day in and day out basis.

14. why is music so important and dear to your heart ?

                Music is important to me because, it allows me to be the person I always try to be and allows me to be there for people in person and in spirit.

15. Taking this as a passion what works best with you for endeavors you may face (regarding to music)? 

                Well I am very different in the way I create and the music I create, so acceptance will always be hard for me but it is the lack of acceptance that drives me.

16. whats your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?

                I collaborate best with my personal friend Mark Williams check his music out if you have never heard of him he is amazing.

17. who does all of your cover art or do you make your own?

                I make a good portion of my cover art but I also have help from Kid Retro, my girlfriend, and many others.

18. who makes most of your beats or production? 

                I have done the production on most of my songs but shout out J. Bake for making my “Never Lasts” beat.

19. who is one artist you wish to work on music with and why?

                I would love to work with Lil Tracy or Lil Uzi Vert because I believe our styles would mesh amazingly.

20. who is one producer you wish to work with and why?

                I really just want to work with my own production, but if I had to choose it would be Big Jerm.

21 do you have any upcoming shows in the next couple months ?

                I don’t but be posted with what NoRivals is doing because I might show up at some of those shows.

22 for people who havent heard of you what sets you apart from other artists?

                I have a very unique voice and excellent production it is hard for me to describe what my music is like and that is what makes me different than other artists, check out my album “Leave Me Be…” to see what I mean

23 at the end of the day what does music mean to you ?

            Music is an outlet for expression  for me and it is a driving piece in my entertainment.

24. Any live shows or projects you got coming up? 

            I have multiple singles dropping on all platforms, be sure to look for them.
