T.E.E - Interview

1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from?

A) I go by T.E.E and I'm from Goldsboro North Carolina

2. What made you start making music?

A) I was always around it even at a young age. My step father at the time was a music producer and had other rappers from NC come to record at our house. I would see these studio sessions all the time and wonder what it was like to be an artist. I found it super interesting how people came up with rhymes and hooks.

3. Who are your influences?

A) KRS-One, Nas, Jay-Z , Lil Wayne, T.I & Ludacris

4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?

A) Based of what I've heard recently I think it's in a great place right now. There's the super lyrical guys who flex their prowess in such dope and unique ways and there are others who have taken the mainstream sound and mixed it with their own to create a new wave. Their songs are super dope lyrically and they manage to do a great dope job of making it fun for the more mainstream consumer to listen to.

5. What are your goals for 2019 regarding music?

A) To get more monthly listeners on all streaming platforms. I want my music to reach more people. Also I want to get booked for more shows as well as produce for other upcoming artists.

6. You have 1 person to thank who would it be?

A) My mother. She's been the most supportive out of all my family. I get the music gene from her.

7. What is your process for recording music ?

A) A lot of the time I make my own beats so I make the beat first and during the process I think of potential choruses for the song. When I have an idea of what I want to use, I write my verses then I start recording. I record the chorus first, then verses, dubs and adlibs.

8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for?

A) Yes! I actually just dropped a single called "Clancy Brown" and I have three other singles out called Get It, SelfMade & Worth. All of those will be on my upcoming sophomore album "Endangerment"

9. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper?

A) That I get to express myself through music. It's a release that I need in life. I vent a lot through music

10. What impact do you want to have on the world?

A) Something positive. The type to give back and help the people that are going through the struggle.

11. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying?

A) Definitely a full blown 24/7 lifestyle. I wake up early ever morning to work on something new be it a song or beat

12. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why?

A) DaBaby. He's from NC and he's repping us hard. Bro got bars too.

13. what does the music you create make you feel?

A) Relieved. It feels as though some weights have been lifted. I also get real hype because it's lit.

14. why is music so important and dear to your heart ?

A) It's been there for me as long as I can remember. I love everything about music.

15. Taking this as a passion what works best with you for endeavors you may face (regarding to music)?

A) Being consistent and well aware of the business side.

16. whats your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer?

A) Working with Greg Dos. He's both an artist and producer.  He keeps me informed of everything he does on a song we're working on. Sometimes I work with some and what I get sent back is way different than what I recorded too. Greg keeps me informed every step of the way.
