Tuke - Interview 02
Tell us your name and a bit about yourself
My name is Tuke(Lucas Tenkku), I currently work a full time job as a field marker for a window company going door to door and when I’m not I’m working on or listening to music.
1. What made you start making music?
The start of me making music began with free styling over the headset during call of duty black ops 1 matches. After awhile I took up writing which eventually turned in having the courage to record it.
2. Who are your influences?
I’m inspired by a lot of music but as far as influences on my sound go, I have few. King Los,Mac Miller, and MF Doom have a heavy influence on me.
3. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?
The underground is very important to hip hop at least I think so. It’s so interesting too how like MF DOOM for example is a well known legend in the underground but not well known on a mainstream scale at all. I love keeping an ear for new artists that come out you never know when you’ll find a lil Aaron, saint jhn, lil xelly, kythre, nessly etc I could really go on all day.
4. What are your goals for 2019 regarding music?
In 2019 I plan on continuing to establish myself as an artist and going with that feels right to me always. Definitely a project as always and some fun surprises as well.
5. You have 1 person to thank who would it be ?
Id have to thank god for continuing to bless me with a wonderful life even when I sometimes take it for granted
6. What is your process for recording music ?
Usually when I go to record I have 3-4 tracks ready to go and I like to leave one as mostly a freestyle on beats I have in my head around that time that I want to try recording over. I smoke before and after I record but never during a song I wait till it’s finished.
7. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for?
I’m really excited to finally get my music on the streaming services which I’m trying to complete before the end of the this year. Limitless and Juice is loose are already up on Spotify. Definitely aiming to get the next project out before summer of 2019. As of now you can catch me on Siroka’s album dropping this month on “Collective”
8. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper?
Being considered an artist means the world to me, the passion has always been something for me to keep moving forward towards.
9. What impact do you want to have on the world?
In this life id love to show people that no matter how many mistakes you’ve made you can always bounce back. Always here to push love and it’s not cliche when I say you really can do whatever it is you put your mind to and a work ethic to.
10. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying?
Music is what I love to do and i always keep it around me. It’s a hobby for sure based on how much I listen to it in general but at the same time it’s truly a love of my life with how I’m always thinking about it. It will always be a very crucial part of my life.
11. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why?
I listen to a lot of artists from all different genres but as far as the rap world goes currently I really love seeing JID shine. Saw him perform before and he’s great but Kendrick Lamar is my favorite to watch grow at the moment. The sky is the limit for that man
