Yung Cudiii - Interview


1. Tell us your rap name and where are you from? 

Yungcudii: My real name is Isaiah Haye although I’m professionally known as Yungcudii. One day I was making Facebook and needed to come up with a user name. My older brother went by the nickname of brown boy Cudii, so I decided to take Cudii from him and join it in with my first name which was Isaiah Tcudii. When I started making music I wanted to go by lil Cudii although that didn’t sound right to me. Eventually I came across Yungcudii and stuck with it since then.

2. What made you start making music? Yungcudii: One day I was watching mtv Awards with my older brother. I remember seeing Chris brown, lil twist and Soulja achieve their dreams at young age. That motivated me to want to start making music. 

3. Who are your influences? Yungcudii:  Growing up it was 50 cent. Tupac, lil Wayne and the games. Now that I make music I would say xxxtentaciom and Juice Wrld

4. What is your take on the underground rap scene right now?  Yungcudii: Artist are finally getting the proper recognition that they deserve. 

5. What are your goals for 2019 regarding music?  Yungcudii: To at least hit 1 million views on one of my music videos & to have overall 2 million yearly streams this year.


6. You have 1 person to thank who would it be? Yungcudii: My mom. I wouldn’t be where I am today if she didn’t believe in me. 


7. What is your process for recording music ? Yungcudii:  Usually I write music but lately I been freestyling.  8. Any upcoming projects or singles fans should be getting ready for?  Yungcudii:  I’m dropping Purge Season 2 along with 5 music videos this summer.

9. What is your favorite part about being an artist/musician/rapper?  Yungcudii:  Impacting people. I love when fans dm me telling me that my music changed their live for the better.

10. What impact do you want to have on the world?  Yungcudii:  I positive impact. I want people to hear my story and start believing that anyone can get to where I am. 

11. What are your ambitions with music is this just a hobby or is this a full blown 24/7 lifestyle your embodying? Yungcudii:  Hopefully this becomes a successful career that I could live off. 

12. Who is your favorite artist in the rap game right now and why?  Yungcudii:  Juice Wrld. Sadly Juice Wrld passed away back in 2019 although I feel like no artist is good enough to take his spot. I feel like what Juice Wrld says in the music relates to me in many different ways. 

13. what does the music you create make you feel? Yungcudii:  Makes me feel important. My music isn’t just “music” to people. My fans say my music can be therapeutic during tuff times.

14. why is music so important and dear to your heart ? Yungcudii:  It’s another way to help people get through tuff times. Personally I feel like music is a gateway.

15. Taking this as a passion what works best with you for endeavors you may face (regarding to music)? Yungcudii:  Promoting music, this is what a lot of artist lack in.

16. whats your best collaboration experience with another artist or producer? Yungcudii:  My best collaboration was with artist OEG on our debut album Purge Season

17. who does all of your cover art or do you make your own? Yungcudii:  I go to more then one artist although majority of my art was made by Sedik.

18. who makes most of your beats or production?  Yungcudii:  In the beginning I recorded at The Cave Recording Studios where Sarju would mix and master all of our stuff. Since I started recording at home I been sending all of my songs to KayWaybeats to mix.

19. who is one artist you wish to work on music with and why?  Yungcudii:  Lil Tecca. I feel like we have similar music. 20. who is one producer you wish to work with and why? Yungcudii:  Nick Mira, he specializes in sad vibe type beats & thats my favourite type of music to make.

21 do you have any upcoming shows in the next couple months ? Yungcudii:  Originally I was suppose to go on tour this summer but all that changed due to COVID19.

22 for people who havent heard of you what sets you apart from other artists? I’m versatile & my music is timeless.

23 at the end of the day what does music mean to you ? Yungcudii:  Music Is freedom to me. It’s another way to speak how your feel without getting judged. 24. Any live shows or projects you got coming up?  Yungcudii:  Oeg and I are dropping Purge Season 2 this summer. 25. Where can the people that checked out this interview find you?
